Areas of Concern

·         The homicide summary revealed eight homicide investigations with a total of 9 victims.  Four of the eight incidents were domestic in nature.

·         Larceny from autos continue to be of concern.  Unfortunately, criminals are finding too many critical items inside parked vehicles such as guns, computers, I-Pads etc…  Please remind neighbors and friends to keep vehicles clean of similar items.  It’s hard to deter criminals when they are constantly getting this type of merchandise.

·         Auto Thefts are of concern, particularly with Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth products.  A large number of larceny of autos are committed by youths who steal cars to go out and commit their crimes.

Please know that your Zone Six officers, along with officers from other divisions are doing all that we can to deter and detect criminal behavior.  We still need your ears and eyes.  Please be vigilant and report any and all suspicious activity.  Another suggestion is to communicate with your neighbors and ensure that their lots are well lit.  We understand that we can’t be everywhere at the same time but with your help, we can be in the right place at the right time.  Thank you for partnering with the Atlanta Police Department.

The mission of the Atlanta Police Department is to create a safer Atlanta by reducing crime, ensuring the safety of our citizens and building trust in partnership with our community.

Sincerely,

Major T. D. Peek

  1. Are these the stats for all of 2015 or are they the stats for Week 29 of 2015?
