You asked and we listened!

During the month of September FBAC officers will be spending a portion of their patrol time on Friday and Saturday evenings in the commercial district meeting with residents and business owners. If you see an APD officer in uniform, please take a moment to go up and say hello. Officers will be happy to answer questions you might have about safety in the neighborhood or the patrol.

Alert!

There were four bicycles stolen during this reporting period.  Please make sure you bring your bikes inside to a secure area if possible.

FBAC Officers Arrest:

FBAC Officers Matt Gilstrap and Chris Clark arrested two wanted subjects during this reporting period.  One subject was a probation violation on a drug charge and the other a probation violation on a theft.

From the narrative of FBAC Officer Skeens:

On 1 August, 2015, at approximately 10:30pm a call came up at 865 N. Highland. Dispatch advised that the caller had seen three young black males jumping the fence on the south side of the address. I arrived on scene approximately 45 seconds after the dispatch call. I located the three juveniles. All three were 14 years old with no warrants/holds. I contacted one of the juvenile's mother and she came to pick them up to take them home to Sandy Springs. All three were cited for curfew violation.

Burglary 933 Ponce De Leon Pl from Officer’s Narrative

On August 5, 2015, an officer was dispatched to a burglary call at 933 Ponce De Leon Place NE. The victims said that around 7:45pm they heard a loud noise and their dog began barking loudly. When they came out of the back room to see what was going on, they saw a white male who appeared to be homeless standing in their hallway. They asked him why he was inside their home, and told him to leave. He did as asked, and walked north on Ponce De Leon Pl towards Virginia Cir where they lost sight of him.

Fifteen minutes later the victim said he could not find his white apple iPhone 5s. When he could not locate the iPhone he called for police help. The male was described as a white male 5'10 in height with brown shoulder length hair. He was said to be dressed in a grey shirt and khaki shorts. The suspect smelled of alcohol and was possibly intoxicated. There was no damage to any of the doors or windows in the residence.

The officer then made the decision to run a check on the victim. He came back with a warrant out of Fulton County. The victim was detained at 8:40pm and taken to Fulton County Jail.

Reminders:

·         All members call 911 first if you see a crime in progress or a suspicious person or activity, and then call the FBAC Phone. The phone number is (770) 310-0871 and is also on the schedule that is emailed to you monthly.

·         If you see someone or something suspicious please report it to the police.  When driving or out walking keep an eye out in the neighborhood, what you see and report just might prevent a crime.
