News and Notes
Significant incidents through 1/20/18
Burglary (Business) - 730 Barnett Street
On January 5, police responded to the Food Mart located at 730 Barnett St for a burglary to a business.  Upon arrival, officers observed a cut padlock and chain and saw that the front door had been forced open and the glass panels surrounding the cashier area had been knocked out.  The cashier area had been ransacked, with products strewn across the floor and counter.  Private security cameras located in the Food Mart and adjacent businesses were observed.  A witness working at a nearby business stated he did not observe a break-in but had noticed a middle-aged white male wearing a toboggan hat walking past the area between 2:00 – 2:42 AM, and turning eastbound on Ponce De Leon Ave.  Police were unable to reach the business owner immediately to determine what items had been stolen.  Investigators were alerted for follow up; no further information available at this time.
