Aggravated Assault – 1033 Monroe Dr
On August 29, police were dispatched to a dispute call at the “Pups and Tubs” dog grooming shop on Monroe Dr.  The victim reported having a verbal dispute with a customer.  According to the victim, the customer (suspect) came into the shop with his dog and stated that he had to go out of town soon and needed his dog groomed.  The victim stated that he never made any promises to have the grooming done by a specific time.  The suspect later came back to the shop and the grooming service was not completed, at which point the victim advised the suspect “went off on him” and began threatening him by referencing a “gun in his car” and saying something about his family.  The victim did not recall the specific threats made.
Burglary – 700-Block Virginia Circle
On Tuesday, September 10, at approximately 1:35 am police responded to a suspicious person call in the 700-block of Virginia Circle.  The victim / homeowner advised she was lying in bed when she heard a pounding noise around 1:32 am.  At first, she thought it was her daughter moving about the house. While walking towards her daughter's room she heard the pounding again and realized it was coming from the rear basement door.  She turned on the rear porch light and the pounding stopped immediately. One of the panels to the basement door had been punched out next to the door handle. The suspect was unable to make entry due to a deadbolt. A red substance, possibly blood, was observed on the broken shards of glass still attached to the panel. The screen on the window next to the basement door had been bent away from the frame. There appeared to be smudged hand prints on the glass.  A security camera was pointed at the basement door but was not operational at the time.  Investigators took fingerprints, photographs, and collected the broken shards of glass with blood.
Larceny from vehicles continues to be high within the Virginia Highland Area.  Please encourage your neighbors and friends to not leave items visible in their vehicles.  It is an easy target for individuals that wonder around looking for a crime of opportunity.

If you see someone or something suspicious, please report it to the police.  When driving or out walking keep an eye out in the neighborhood, what you see and report just might prevent a crime.

Reminder:  All members call 911 first if you see a crime in progress or a suspicious person or activity, and then call the FBAC Phone.
